It is with great joy and gratitude to God that we welcome Fr Satheesh Voora SVD to our parish family. Fr Satheesh arrived in our parish on 18th February, and we are delighted to receive him into our community.

Fr Satheesh was born on 22 February 1995 in the state of Telangana, India, to Mr V. Pedda Kashaiah and Mrs Janamma. Inspired by the dedicated service of priests and religious in his parish, he joined the Society of the Divine Word (SVD) in 2010.

He completed his studies in English Literature at Loyola College, Chennai, and professed his First Religious Vows in 2018. He pursued philosophical studies in Bhopal and later theological studies in Pune, making his Final Profession in January 2024. He was ordained to the Sacred Priesthood on 8 January 2025.

Following his ordination, Fr Satheesh received his first missionary appointment to the SVD Australia Province (which includes Australia, New Zealand, Myanmar, and Thailand) and has now been appointed to serve here in New Zealand. Fr Satheesh comes to us with a deep love for Christ and His Church, a strong missionary spirit, and a sincere desire to proclaim the Word of God and serve God’s people with humility and joy.

We warmly welcome him and assure him of our prayerful support as he begins his priestly ministry among us. May the Lord bless him abundantly in his mission here at Te Awakairangi.
